AI for Leaders: Training for the Third Sector in Wales
There’s a clear need for leadership-level conversations about AI. Not just about what tools exist, but how they fit into your mission, how to use them responsibly, and how to build internal confidence.
This autumn, we’re running two free online modules designed specifically for charity leaders, trustees, and senior staff in Wales. Over the two modules, we’ll cover an overview of AI, practical examples, Third Sector case studies, governance, risk and responsible use.
You’re welcome to attend both modules or the one most relevant to you.
Module 1 - AI for Leaders: AI for the Third Sector
When: 29th October 2025, 10 am
With the rapid rise of Artificial Intelligence and the speed of its development, it can be challenging for organisations to keep pace.
In this module, ProMo Cymru will guide you through some practical applications of AI for your organisation and share case studies from the third sector.
The module is aimed at leaders to help you understand how AI can support your work.
Through this hands-on and practical module, we’ll cover
- The background of AI: What is it and how does it work
- Beginner AI tools, such as ChatGPT and Otter.ai
- Advanced AI tools, such as NotebookLM, Claude and Firebase Studio
- Examples of AI in the third sector
- The future of AI: What role might AI play in your organisation's future?
Module 2 - AI for Leaders: Policy, Governance and Strategy
When: 26th November 2025, 10 am
In this module, ProMo Cymru will explore the challenges and opportunities of embedding Artificial Intelligence across your organisation.
We’ll consider strategies for supporting your staff, navigating ethical considerations with confidence, writing appropriate usage policies, and communicating your vision for responsible AI adoption.
Whether you’re in the early stages of AI exploration or developing a strategy, this session will equip you with practical insights to lead your organisation into the future with Artificial Intelligence.
Through this module, we’ll cover
- How to write clear and practical AI usage policies
- Ways to support your staff and build internal confidence with AI
- Approaches to managing ethical considerations and risks
- How to communicate your organisation’s vision for responsible AI
strategies to ensure AI adoption strengthen your mission and values
These sessions are designed for
- Senior Leaders, Trustees and Board members who want to better understand the opportunities AI presents.
- Digital leads, comms leads, service managers or other Third Sector staff who, whether formally or informally, play a part in shaping digital direction.

- One place per organisation: as spaces are limited, we’ll be offering one place per organisation.
- Selection process: We are looking to work with a diverse range of Third Sector organisations across Wales so there will be a selection process.
